About

The Weight Room OKC
Now Open 24 Hours a Day For Your Convenience

The Weight Room was established in 1984 by Steve “Flash” Gordon. Steve started the gym when he was preparing for the Olympic tryouts in Karate. Soon, all of his friends and their friends were working out together at the office space he had vacant in one of his properties. One of his friends suggested he put out a bucket and everybody drop a dollar in the bucket when they come to workout to offset the utilities. Soon after the gym became “A Real Gym” The Weight Room.

By 1999, the facility was too small for the serious minded lifters, bodybuilders and power lifters, so Steve moved to his current location at 3901 N. Tulsa Ave. in Oklahoma City.

The Weight Room is certainly an icon in the gym industry. Known for its eclectic style and vast space with over 400 pieces of equipment, there is certainly something here for everybody.

If you are serious about your fitness goals, don’t mind a little chalk on the floor and some “banging” of weights from time to time.
